11:11; does it have to do anything with 2012?

I was researching on 2012 and came across the link on Wikipedia and 11:11 got my attention..

December 21 - 11:11 UTC. Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.[

The winter solstice occurs at the instant when the Sun's position in the sky is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observer's hemisphere.[clarification needed] The seasonal significance of the winter solstice is in the reversal of the gradually lengthening nights and shortening days. Depending on the shift of the calendar, the winter solstice occurs some time between December 21 and December 22 each year in the northern hemisphere, and between June 20 and June 21 in the southern hemisphere[1], during either the shortest day or longest night of the year. Though the winter solstice lasts an instant, the term is also colloquially used like "midwinter" to refer to the full 24-hour period of the day on which it occurs.

Hi

11:11 and 2012 have only one thing in common and that is that the Mayan Calendar will end on Dec. 21, 2012 at 11:11 PM. It will also be my birthday at that exact moment as well. But, that's all that it is.

Some people wrongly believe that the world will end. They are wrong. I will be one year older and the Mayan calendar will no longer mean anything. It had to end sometime.

11:11 is a series of time prompts that go beyond coincidence. It usually starts with 11:11 being noticed by the recipient on numerous occasions on sales slips, addresses, digital clocks etc... . I have done extensive research on this and similar subjects and you can view my articles at:
